I am not familiar with scanning for errors.

If you are asking about coding, the software is E-Sys. It is a BMW application.

Keep the questions coming. We all learn from them.
By "this," rather than errors I meant scanning for codes produced by my car. For example, if I get a CEL, will I be able to view the code using this OBD2->Ethernet cable?

Thanks for asking for the clarification, it definitely was getting a bit late when I posted that last one haha.

As far as I know E-Sys doesn't read OBD codes. It allows one to change certain parameters (things on the coding sheet).

See y'all on the 21st!!

I'd like to join the fun; and make some changes to my E70 X5. Any recommendations on a cable compatible with my car?

The weather forecast, right now, is for clear sunny skies tomorrow afternoon. Please hold your applause, or laughter, as the case may be!

The coding meet is still on because I am eternally hopeful. If, however, tomorrow afternoon, as the time for the coding meet approaches and you get an Emergency Alert System notification of flash floods and to head for high ground, and you can't see the cup of coffee you are holding in your hands because the visibility is so bad, play it safe and stay with your coffee, wherever you are. No sense in anyone getting hurt to make this event in bad weather...we can always try again.

On the flip side, if you have previously written that you are excited about coming and now you are having second thoughts or know for sure that you cannot come, please post a note to let us know that you will not be able to make it. If a lot of you post no-show warnings, then we may as well reschedule regardless of weather.

See you tomorrow if the weather is good.

It was great to get everyone started. We do need to talk more about your 6WB strategy.

That we do. Unfortunately most of the ones I'm looking at are used from the UK or another European country... doubt anything would be done to it pre-shipping so I'm not sure if we'd be able to work with it or not.

you could have it shipped to a middleman who will burn your VIN into the EEPROM, and then ship it on to you. There is one place in Poland that does that type of work, but you will pay dearly for their time and shipping.

Thanks again for the time. It was great to actually learn how to do this instead of just having someone do it themselves. I'm plugging in for the first time today. Wish me luck!

Coded DVD in Motion and Digital Speed (used to have HUD on my F30 so was missing some digital option). Yes, addicting, and looking for more options to code now .

I went and coded like 15 things...one of them ended up resetting my instrument cluster. Got errors that all of my safety systems had failed and to take it to the dealer... Turned the car off, came back 5 mins later, all features worked perfectly and no errors

That must have been a very, very, long five minutes!! Not to worry...EZAirCon4JC had some very peculiar coding situations, and he survived!

Something about changing the language to French and not being able to change it back to English...
