Same here I keep being fobbed off. Keep being told it will be fixed in 24 hours. Been waiting a month.
Cant get my car added, cant get a security code sent. Apparently they've had a new system. The only thing that looks any good is RTTI and it seems expensive for what it is. |

After trying to register my car since purchase in February (Aug 2012 build) including abortive calls and emails to BMW (including emailing them, as requested, scanned copies of the V5), I finally managed to registered it yesterday. I was able to receive the security code and send destinations via Google Maps. I have however lost 3 months of the free subscription and have asked BMW to compensate me. No replies so far.

A great shame that something that BMW have spent £millions developing to try to maintain engineering tech on par (somewhat) with information technololgy is left, even for those with an IT bent, to discover for themselves. Here is the new portal: https://www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk...n?locale=en_UK

I am having problems with this also. Purchased a 2010 car AUC in May. I got myself registered but no 'Services' are showing in the online portal. Here's the email I got from BMW:
Good morning John Thanks for your email about Google Send to Car. I’m sorry to learn that you’ve been unable to send destinations to your car – I can appreciate how frustrating this must be. I’ve looked into this for your and it appears that when your account was set up on the new system not all services were transferred across. I’ve reported this to BMW Germany who are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. I can only ask for your continued patience as they work for a resolution. If you require my further attention in the meantime, please get back in touch. Kind regards Mick BMW Group United Kingdom Mick Robinson BMW ConnectedDrive Support Executive

Service on the new platform does seem to vary depending upon whether you have bought a new car or a used one in my experience. The new one has registered everything it should on the new ConnectedDrive portal, the used one has things missing. Pics attached (if I've worked out how to upload them)

Store also appeared on mine today, up until today it had just said not available when navigating to the following on the idrive ConnectedDrive> BMW Online
On the car it now says Booked services: TeleServices preparation Services available to book: ConnectedDrive Services So what do you get for the £140 a year sub? Anyone who's got it think its worth it? List some pros/cons of it? I don't suppose anyone knows if you get a free period of connecteddrive services if you've bought the car from bmws auc? |

BMW info plus - Basically your own PA in the car, finds you restraunts, hotels etc...
BMW Online - News (read by the car), weather, traffic BMW Mobile - Not to sure, but i think it can diagnose faults remotley Connected drive - Activates the apps on your phone, facebook, twitter spotify Send to car - this was the bit i was interested in, browse a map on your phone drop a marker and send that location to the cars nav Remote services - looks to have been cut down, now only lock, unlock and climate activation i may have missed something as very new to this system

Having had all this for the last 5 years I can honestly say the only thing I find value for money is the send to car function. Entering navigation addresses even with voice is so clunky in the car doing it remotely is good value. I've used info plus a few times to find car parks and hotels and restaurants but unless it is during office hours they get really stroppy with you and you have to wait ages for a reply. I suspect at 6am and after 10pm they have only one person manning their system.

might give it a try for a year to see what its like
the google send to car would be handy when you say it activates apps, do you mean on the idrive? an internet radio app that is controlled through the idrive is what I'm after, is this a feature? |

It seems that you need to download the BMW connected app onto your iPhone, connect to car via usb then the apps, including web radio, appear on I drive I went ahead and purchased a years connecteddrive and wasn't getting the web radio app, hopefully by doing this ill get it working! Not played with it much yet but I did find a gmail app in connecteddrive > office Which will be useful, I've managed to get the car to display my sms previously but couldn't get email to work |

Well I downloaded the BMW connected app onto my iPhone, connected to car via usb and nothing happened.
Doing some further reading it seems you must have the 6NR (BMW apps) option on your car, from doing a vin check on mine, my car doesn't have this option. I've read there are some retrofit options for this, retrofitting 6NR, but they are quite involved and require running cables from the combox to the centre console area (that would be the usb/snap in adaptor area, in the centre armrest) and then also wiring from here to cic unit. Plus coding of 6NR which also requires a FSC code. Think I'll do without BMW apps! |
