Speed limit warnings on satnav

There are SLI emulator boxes available that display the current roads speed limit on a 6WA/WB dash WITHOUT you having the camera install to read road signs. They work by using the road speed limit info that is already encoded into the satnav map data.

Surely there is a way to turn this on without an emulator box somewhere in the satnav ? I have a 2013 F10 with NBT and latest maps. The data is already encoded into the map and, from a software perspective, this would be a relatively simple feature to include (i'm a software developer).

Have I missed an option or has this been omitted (possibly to sell options at inital purchase) ?

No possibility without emulator. I have both nav and camera, but still had to do coding and use an official BMW FCS code to activate the SLI feature. 2014 NBT.
