Esys cant connect to VIN no zgw available

Hi guys,

Im having an issue connecting to an f10. I have done coding on my f30 and had no issues. I check to see if cable worked on my car it did but when I change to f10 it didnt connect. I made sure there was connection by checking lights on ethernet port. I check f10 from esys startup. When I try to connect there is no vin to connect too. I have restarted, reconnected cable from obd and laptop. I had car running and still no luck. I'm running esys 3.27.1 and v.59.4_PSdZData_Lite. All my attempts and i get no zgw available. Can anyone help? I've searched and no solutions related to mine.

Have you tried with E-sys directly as well as with Launcher?
Are you getting fallback IP (169.x.x.x)?

I've tried both, not sure about IP I didn't check that. Is there a specific IP needed? With my f30 i didn't need it. Is coding f10 different?

No IP is needed.
Perform a battery reset and try again.

I'll try that and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

Sometimes people are getting zero communication with vehicles. Other times, they get an IP address, but without VIN connection being populated. You should get some IP, but a specific one is not needed.

F30's & F10's have different ECU's. But, the same software and psdzdata is used to code both. Different chassis are selected in E-sys Launcher as well as different connection targets.

Hi Guys,

I'm having the same issue on and off. Today with a i3 and a few weeks back with a F15. When my machine fails to connect to either of these cars it will work in my F30 without restarting Esys or laptop. I can basically unplug, change cars and away it goes and when I switch back to the problem car the fault returns. Connection VIA VIN is constantly blank.

Anyone have any advice?

Cheers
