Question Sophisto Grey Xirallic

I am ordering the F10 525d SE in the UK and would love to have the Xirallic version of Sophisto Grey, which is no longer available because of the supply shortage. I have heard that production of the particles used in Xirallic paint has resumed since mid year so wondering if anybody has any news as to whether this option will come back in 2012? My car is scheduled for manufacturing in mid Feb.

I checked with the dealer and he said he remembers seeing something about this but he couldn't find it in their knowledge base archive.

Isn't the Xirallic Sophisto Grey the same as the current Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect? I saw the B90 color sample and it definitely does have the tiny glittery flecks. My own 520d is on order with the B90.

No, the OP is referring to A90, the term Xirallic appears to be used only in the UK. BMW had to replace A90 with B90 around May 2011 production, the new color name got a 'II' suffix in all geographies.
The metallic effect on A90 is more obvious than with B90.

I stayed away from b90 paint because of the lack of shimmer and flakes. It's still a very nice color but in my opinion cannot compare to a90 once you've spent time with a f10/f11 in that paint.

From what my dealer told me, there won't be a90 in the immediate future..

I have Iblue after initially thinking I wanted the grey but te xgrey was not available in msport, so my hand was kind of forced, however I don't regret the blue. It is a stunning colour and relatively rare.

Even though there is some Xirallic production there is still a big shortage.
Hopefully the new European based factory will come online this year and bring things back to normal
