Staggered Set Up

Can I run staggered m sport 351 wheels on my 535i xdrive? Right now have a square set up.

535xi with M Sport gets the 351m so it should fit.

Make sure to keep the rolling diameter of the tires between front and rear to less than 1%. To much difference will play havoc with the front diff.

You will also need to go to a smaller series on the rear (i.e.35 rears versus 40 on front).

According to BMW,the 351M
19 x 8.5 et33 with 245/40R19 Fronts
19 x 9 et44 with 275/35R19 Rears

Equals 0.518% difference in rolling diameter

I went from a squared stock 17" setup to staggered 19s, using the stock 535i M-Sport wheel and tire sizes. No problems to report.

Yes you can. Let me give you a good example: the xDrive M Sport models in Europe come with staggered wheel sets. Mine was with the OEM 18" 350M and 245-275 Continental RFT
8JX18 ET:30, Part nr. 36 11 7 842 650
9JX18 ET:44, Part nr. 36 11 7 842 651
Now I keep these factory 18" rims for winter and got the aftermarket 20" staggered for summer, with 245/35 and 285/30 Michelin PSS.

Also running staggered setup on my 535xi. All of the above replies are correct. Lots of other threads on the topic.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I did a TON of research on this... unless you want to ruin your xDrive and void the warranty I would NOT do it... I called BMW NA and had a long talk about it with them... they had an engineer get involved... NO was the final answer

So why can you get F10 xDrive with a staggered 351M here?

Whoever you talked to didn't know what they're talking about because as shown above, a staggered setup is clearly available for xDrive. I just double checked this in the BMW ordering guide.

Just one minor issue with the diagram above... It's TIRERACK.COM and NOT BMW NA. They're looking to sell you wheels and tires... Not approved by BMW...

It's not tirerack, it's realoem.com.

As I stated, I verified the information on the BMW F10 order guide. Staggered setup is available from the factory.

Who wants to call BMW NA and get that in writing? ;-)

My dealership told me that some Xdrive depending and the year and order comes with Staggered setup... My did not and I feel bad for that...

So Staggered is approved by BMW....

My M550d xdrive comes staggered from factory. Would think the M department knew what they are doing?

I can also confirm much to my surprise that BMW are shipping F10 XDrive vehicles with staggered set up's , I just did an early termination of my lease yesterday on my 2012 Xdrive and went to see my new 2015 Xdrive at my dealer , the car is equipped with Micheline Run Flats in a staggered set up, both my previous 2011 RWD F10 and my current 2012 F10 Xdrive were square set ups and in those years only a square set up was being offered on X Drives.

Anyone have anything good to say about Michelin Run Flats ? I am hoping they are somewhat better than the Good Year LS2's that I have had. They better be because
Wheel & Tire insurance was $ 1800.00 on my 2012 and they now want $ 2600.00 on the 2015 so I plan to pass on the insurance . I have an extra set of 351's that I run my winters on so if something happens to my wheels , I will just start replacing them with my winter wheels if I have to.
