Any issues with BMS intake?

I was looking to purchase the BMS intake for my F10 535i. What improvements did you guys see? Any sound improvement?

I heard that removing it and going back to stock later is hard because the plastic shroud shrinks and the OEM will not fit anymore.

I have the BMS intake, the improvement is pretty much some intake sound and looks...I have taken it on and off a few times, it's very easy. I suggest putting a towel around the airbox so you don't drop a screw into the engine bay like I did...
the OEM unit fit back on just fine, no issues.

Did you put the cover back on to make it closed or left it open?

What do you mean? The intake is under the hood on the top of the engine. How would it be exposed to rain?

I got it and installed it last week, noticed a small increase in sound, can't say I feel any performance gain though

Is it CARB Legal? or do you have to take it off in order pass a CA emissions test?

Nope... You'd have to reinstall the factory airbox for the smog check.

Also, since you are in Cali some of the sponsors or sites you go to won't sell it to you

All I see is some thing that allows more hot air to get pulled in,,,,

I understand the reason for induction kits but only if there is a direct cold air feed from outside, hence the old e46 had a shield around the filter cone to keep the engine heat at bay.

Although this would create a "Better Sound" but not doing much for performance. I would consider a performance air filter to replace the standard filter keeping the OEM air box as this is a Forced air induction feeding cold air as standard....

That's my opinion, I will shut up now
