535i GT

There's two low mileage 535i GT's available in my area. Both are in excellent shape and drive great. I Like this model because of the increase in cargo space over the 5 series non-GT's. Trading in an SUV.

Many of you are car experts and would like to hear your expert opinion. The fact that the GT is a low production car does this make it more valuable to own and keep it's resale value higher or is the opposite true; there's a small market for them since less people want this model?

Huge savings buying it with low mileage.

Thanks in advance!

GT is a real slow seller and it commands a much lower resale value comparing to an ordinary 5 sedan. Even my sales advisor suggested to me not to buy it.

Just ask your SA to give you the residual value for both GT & sedan and you will probably see a spread of around 4-5% difference (based on 36 months figure). In turn, that translates to around $3000 - $4000 hit on your wallet when time of trading the GT in.

it really depends on what you need/want. honestly in hindsight i kind of wish i bought the GT mainly because of the bigger rear seat. the sedan has an atrociously small rear seat (for a car of this size). why the massive trunk and tight rear seat?? i'm only 6'2 and when i tried to put my daughters car seat behind me her feet would touch the back of my seat and she would constantly push her feet against my seat. i dont know if it's because she was uncomfortable or she was playing, but it's definitely annoying to me. because of this we rarely take my car when we're out as a family and almost always taken my wife's car. i would love to take my car on a road trip; but it's going to happen unfortunately.

take away 2-3 feet (yes feet) of the trunk and give it to the rear passengers and you have a limo like ride.

the GT is definitely a slow seller and you will get less for it at re-sale; however it's negated by the fact that you can buy it at steep discounts. really the biggest thing is whether you can get over the looks of it. if you can, go for it

I haven't confirmed this but the GT may be dropped from the line-up at some point. That would make the potential poor resale value even worse. I too almost bought one since I wish we had the wagon here.
