Advice welcomed
Hope everyone is doing well. I would like to get some advice on whether I should wait for delivery of a car, or look elsewhere...
I was suppose to receive a car a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have been pretty patient when the delaer would call every so often to inform me that he is 99% sure the will come in the next day. Fast forward to today, I spoke with my contact at the dealer, and he said that the car has been at the VPC since early last week. Now the dealer is saying that they do not know when they will receive the car, but hopefully this week. They did offer to knock off a couple of dollars from the monthly payment, and give me a loaner in the meantime. Supposedly the release of 2007 models is causing a delay of cars going from the VPC to the dealerships. Is this normal, or should I be cautious that something may have happened to the car? |

Well considering you and I were in similar situations, I'd say wait it out.........especially if your financing has already been pre-approved via your dealer (...as was the case in my situation). I also had an established relationship with my dealer, so I decided to wait it out. My car was delivered yesterday evening at my dealer, but I won't be receiving it until today. I did all of the paperwork and was given an '06 C230 to drive until today. If they are offering you a loaner and a reduction in price, I'd recommend waiting it out. It truly is out of their hands, and it seems that they are trying their best to compensate you for the prolonged delivery. I was also told that the '07 congestion is what slowed the progression of the deliveries. |

Thanks for the reassurance and feedback! You are right, I should take into consideration that delivery of a car from the VPC is out of the hands of the dealer. My financing was preapproved, as well, so I will go ahead and wait as you recommended. |

Good stuff. My friend delivered my car last night around 9:30. So far, my seat time in the vehicle has been a total of about 30 minutes, but I'm eager to learn her, and I'm equally as eager to mod her. I do already miss the M3's power, but I am loving the $250 extra dollars in my pocket every month. Mods coming this weekend! WOOT! |

Question about VIN
Digit 11 is the Plant code:
L=Spartanburg A=Munich B&D=Dingolfing E=Regensburg N=South Africa The 11th digit for my car is P. Anyone have any idea where that is? My car is a 2007 335i. Thanks. |

I was under the impression that all 335i were produced in Regensburg.

I haven't gone through the entire thread and my apologies if the answer has been posted before, however is there anyway to locate a vehicle after she has hit the port?
My dealer (in VA) says my new car was due to reach his dealership on the 19th (its apparently on a truck and has departed the port) however the car has not reached yet and he has no idea where it is. |
