Maybe I've had exceptional luck, but I've never done ANYTHING to my leather in my previous BMWs (or current), and the seats have always stayed beautiful. I had black leather in the previous 335 - 6.5 years and 89k miles on that car, they were like new when I sold it. 125k on the previous car - same thing. I have black leather now in the F10, and I fully expect the same results.

I think BMW's leather is very durable. I just make sure to be reasonable with it - don't rub sharp objects on it, soil it with any liquids, etc. I also try to keep the car in the garage when parked, especially during the summer, to keep it out of direct sunlight and baking. But admittedly, the 335 spent many a summer's day baking outside with no issues.

Again, maybe I've been extra lucky or something... but I've literally never treated my seats, and they've held up great.
