Need Seats to move : Flood Victim 550i

So ive been working on a flood car the last week or so, and ive come to my next issue im not sure how to resolve.

I need to remove the front seats to get all of the carpet out, But i cannot get power to those seats. All fuses are fine, so i assume its a power seat control module? I am not sure where its located, or if theres another way to move the seats for now.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

also if you're curious on this project, ive started a small youtube series feel free to check it out.

Thanks

I recently purchased a wrecked f10. Part of the deal was removing the seats for a guy he sold them to. But couldn't power up the vehicle. Tried every possible way! Probably due to the ibs fuse. Didn't think to bring one as I have a spare. But anyway. I couldn't get to the back bolts of the front seats. I did bring a battery and booster. Had spare wires with me in the trunk. So made 2 jumper wires. Pinched with the booster cables. Removed the seat harness and put power to the big prongs in the seat. Hard to do this with only 2 hands and no helper. It's a tight space. And arcing is more than likely. I did arc a few times. But this was my situation and I was 100 miles from home and all I had to work with. But then you still have to push the switch to get the seat to move.

It is like a 20 pin connector. But I just figured it had to be the big ones for main power. Should be easy with a power probe. Have a couple of things. Shoot me a pm with a grocery list. I'll take a look. I still have the vehicle. Almost done stripping it. Then off to the scrap yard. My yard is looking like Sanford and sons. And I'm getting dirty looks from the neighbors 😝

Couldn't tell you. You'd have to cross reference on realoem or by part number

Applied power to the main connector, and even to the motor, no luck on movement! But i found some moving connectors in the back i disconnected to get enough room to remove the seat. Should work, darn rain slowed me once again!

The motors could be completely seized.

Do u plan on reusing seat? If not demo seat bottom (remove cover and foam) that might get you better access. last resort is reciprocating saw.

I ended up unbolting the seat from the lower frame, and tomorrow ill have to drill holes into the top part of the frame to get access to the lower bolts And i dont plan to reuse the seats, because i got a good deal on a new set, but considering these are in really nice condition might be worth selling to someone who has rips / tears

Sucks that you can't get that motor to turn. It's a real bitch to get those bolts without being able to move the seat. Even unbolting it from the frame is a pain. Depending on what position the seat was left in. And those bolts are really torqued down. Did you attempt to put power to both seats?

If it's not too late, Try ISTA if to move the seats with battery charger connected. You maybe able to move the seats. Even just having the seats at the highest position will give you room to reach the module.
Once you can disconnect the module, you can possible power the motors directly.

My car had a bad module when I bought it but was able to move it directly from ISTA. also note that no matter what realoem says, the modules have to be from similarly equipped cars. I bought and replaced 4 modules to get the one that was equipped as same as mine.
