Fitted gloss black grills

Hi all, I fitted the glosss black grills today after buying them from BMW-Direct on Ebay. I think they look a bit meaner than the chrome ones.
The old ones were quite hard to pull out too. It felt like something was going to break - a grit your teeth and cringe sort of moment!!

Looks great! Any tips for a would-be DIY'er? Did it go similar to what is described in this thread?

I love the look but some people say it doesn't go as well with darker colors. I disagree, yours looks terrific.

I followed those instructions and it works just as described but like 330cd says the clips require an extra amount of persuasion but with delicacy so you don't break them. Just make sure that ALL the clips are free before you start pulling.

I have to agree.... That's why I have also installed gloss black kidneys on my 2012 528i Non-M Sport... Looks more menacing.... All I need now is a good set of 20" wheels....

Any recommendations? I dont want it to be too striking or OTT...

That looks fantastic!

My only advice beyond the DIY is to do this when the car is warm - the bumper becomes quite pliable then and makes getting your hand behind the grill (to release the clips) much easier.

The gloss black kidney grills not only look sportier, they also help tame the protruding effect of the F10 nose. I really like the way they look!

Not the best angle, but it gives you a decent idea...
