Which F10 would YOU buy?
Hello!
This is my first thread on the forum and I'm just gone dive right into the action. I sold my beloved Audi A5 last week and I've been hunting for a decent used F10 since then and there's two cars I'm looking at right now. And now I need your help deciding which one is the best for me! Both of these cars are MY 2010 and has the 3.0 straight six petrol engine with automatic transmission! The first one has 78000 km (48500 miles) on it and has three past owners. Pros and cons for this car: + Is owned by and older man and seems very well maintained/clean. + Sport seats and shadowline looks good on the car. - Doesn't have a lot of options, if I buy this I have to upgrade the speakers, get bluetooth etc. - Doesn't come with winter tyres (which is a must here in Sweden) Spec: No. Description 1CB CO2 CONTENT 2AH ALLOY WHEELS TURBINE STY.329/MT 2PA LOCKING WHEEL BOLTS 205 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 230 EU SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT 255 SPORTS LEATHER STEERING WHEEL 258 RUNFLAT TYRES 3AC TRAILER TOW HITCH 3AP WINDSCREEN WITH GREY SHADE BAND 302 ALARM SYSTEM 320 MODEL DESIGNATION, DELETION 423 FLOOR MATS, VELOUR 428 WARNING TRIANGLE 431 INTERIOR RR VW MIRROR W AUT ANTI-D 464 SKIBAG 465 THROUGH-LOAD SYSTEM 481 SPORT SEATS F DRIVER/FRONT PASSENGER 494 SEAT HEATING F DRIVER/FRONT PASSENGER 5AC AUTOM. I would opt for the first car, the lighter silver if it appears to be in better condition. Three owners may scare me away, but if you know the story that may not be a deal breaker.
Good luck! |

First Car may be slightly under equipped BUT it seems to be in better condition, Check all their Records and pick the one you like... I say good catch for an F10 530i @

The dash screen on the first one is out-date (very first and few F10 5's). If there no major different in performance. I would go for the second one.

As for the picks, barring some major issue on number 2, that's the one I'd get. Bit more mileage and questions of history but to me seem the better deal of the 2. As mentioned, as long as it doesn't have some major issue currently which would affect ownership in the short term. |

I would hold off on both of these and try for a MY 2011 or later. Lots of issues with MY2010... If you do get it make sure it has an extended warranty. Good luck and keep us posted!

Thank your for your replies!
What kind of issues does MY10 have that was fixed? I know about the 'normal' F10 problems but didn't think any year model was any better. |

Soo.. Today was the day!
After a four hour drive I decided to look at the "dark" grey car first, and it was an enormous dissapointment. It had dents and scratches all over the place, it wasn't service properly, the color of almost every button inside the car had peeled of, gearbox was jerky and just the whole car was pretty run down. I was very surprised given that this was the more expensive car of the two. So, I moved on to the silver car. Just by coming to the man's house I could tell that the car was in a lot better condition. Everything was nice and clean, and the car looked very smart on the driveway. After a thourugh inspection and a test drive I was completely sold. It was silky smooth, no dents or big scratches, new car smell in the cabin and just a solid feel to the whole car. I came home two hours ago and I have already bought 19" 351M wheels and M-aero package. It's gonna look great! Current wheels are going to act as winter-setup. This is the only photo you will get for now, more will come later when I'm done with the modding. |

Yesterday I got around fitting the front bumper.
I am very pleased with the result, for an non-OE product it is a very tight fit I have the side skirts and the rear bumper waiting, should be good to go next week. |

How do the brake ducts line-up? I've read that they are off, but some air is still directed to the brakes. |

Thanks!
There was some sort of plastic cover that was supposed to be behind the mesh right next to the fog lights but I removed it and the air should have no issues finding the brake vents now. :-) |

The rest of the package is now on the car!
Side skirts are OEM fitment. Really well made. Rear bumper on the other hand lacks a few mm on one side. I'm probably the only one to see it but all in all I would say this kit is 95% of what OEM is. Enough talking, here's the pics! |
