Important thing is that you and everybody else is OK. Accidents unfortunately happen, cars get fixed, that's life.
Sucks that it happened, especially so soon into the ownership, I'd be upset too. Nothing you can do though, other than move on and make sure it's fixed properly. Good luck. |

As has been said the important thing is you're OK!! Cars can be easily repaired, you.... Not so much.
Oyster isn't so bad... The only real difficulty has been blue jeans. Even then it isn't that hard to clean. |

I will reiterate what has been said, in the end so long as everyone is ok that's all that matters. It's a bummer but it's fixable.

Would anyone buy a car with 60 thousand miles on it, not me for sure I sell mine with 10K or less. Sorry it's smashed but will not be a write off with that damage we hope.

One thing that sucks is that if the car was impeccable with a clean accident history... now its got the proverbial "herpes" on its history that will never go away.....
Glad you're OK and hope that the repairs go quickly and quality. |

That sounds very high for what you've shown, though I'm not an expert.
If you're not at fault, you shouldn't care really, but if my memory serves me right, if the damage is around 1/2 the current value of the car, insurance is likely to write it off. What does insurance adjustor say to this, has she/he signed off on this, that's what matters? Even if they approve, and you do this, the car is yours for life, you will never sell a car with that amount of damage on the CarProof, you won't be able even to give it away for free, nobody will touch it. Sorry to hear that, but talk to insurance adjustor, get it written off if that indeed is the damage. |

Unfortunately that's not how it works. Insurance company will not write you anything, unless the car is written off. What they will do instead is send their adjustor to the shop of your choice who will approve or deny the repair cost shop is claiming, and insurance will pay them directly. You never see any money personally. If the cost indeed is 25K and price of 2011 535 is at very best in mid 30s, I don't see how they can approve the repair, or why would you want them to do it. My advice, don't get too attached if it's that badly damaged, push for a write off and find another car. It's unfortunate for you, but no point keeping a car that's suffered damage that's more than 2/3 of it's current market value. |
