Head Light Bulb Spec Question
Does any one know if our Headlight Bulb replacement is either
D1S or D2S ? Has any one switched out the lights in our xenon for a whiter color? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Alex!! I just switched my low beams on Monday with 5000k D1S bulbs. No more yellow tint like the stock xenons, just PURE white. They also match the angel eyes perfectly now.
Install is easy: 1- Jack up the car and turn wheel all the way to opposite side. ( You don't have to jack the car up, but it will definitely make it easier and save you from busting out hudini moves just to get in there) 2- Remove two screws to open the little door on fender lining. 3- Remove cover where the D1S bulb is located. 4- Make sure car is COMPLETELY off, no power going to headlights or anything. 5- Unplug the power plug connection located on the bottom of D1S bulb. 6- Twist bulb counter clockwise and remove. 7- Swap out D1S bulbs and re insert and re connect plug. 8- Put everything back together and repeat on steps on the other side. 9- Enjoy!!! |

Your 550 - High/ Low is the same bulb - bi-xenon - D1S as mentioned
If you go HID fog - people ususally go for 35watt - althought the Msport Fog calls for 55watt halogen. |

What company is everyone using for the best xexon match? Regular bulbs just swap for fog/corner?

The retrofit source store.
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=1674 http://www.theretrofitsource.com/con...h2kvbaal1hgsnb It's NOT listed on the website online store but if you email (and/or call) Matt, he will reply back to you in a day or 2. You can also order from UK or Germany but the going price is pretty hefty ... $145US EACH. http://www.powerbulbs.com/xenon-hid-...at1=37&cat2=75 Another source you can check is to goto your local Mercedes Benz dealership, ask for the D1S bulb for the 2011/2012 S Class or CLS Class in which they have been fitted with the Osram CBI. ^ For fog: with Msport - H11 - I think you have to go with something around 5000k, something like MTEC
http://www.motivemods.com/MTEC-p/mte-cb-h11.htm I tried it before, did not like the end result. I took them off as they seem to have odd purplish/whitish/bluish hue. Currently, going with yellow ... Piaa Plasma ion yellow. See post #12 http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=504155 As for corner, I haven't done anything ... not that useful as it does not stay on while driving. If you REALLY want to match the stock hid light & angel eye, go LED. Found one set and Made in Germany. Around $500 for the pair. |

I have a guy on ebay claiming the ones being sold by theretrostore.com are fake knock offs since the wholesole price on those bulbs is more than what they are asking for (175 for the pair) and is saying the ones from theretrostore are most likely coming in plain white boxes rather than the retail packaging.... |

If in doubt, there are other online vendors, mainly UK sells them with the Osram box .... for example, this site in UK, sells for $270 US for a pair (Incl. shipping)
