Water pump class action claim form from "Oliver Claims Administrator" - legit?
Today I received a claim form for water pumps on certain affected vehicles. My former 2013 535i qualifies. Reimbursement amount is up to $1K.
I definitely got hit with this, out of warranty, and prior to the required max of 84K miles stated in the notice. Curious if anyone else has received this notice, and wondering if it's legit. TIA.... |

I got the letter. Unfortunately, the water pump on my 2011 failed at 87k and I replaced it myself. I don't think I qualify for the reimbursement.

Of all problems with BMW, such as their infamous N63 valve stem issues, N20 chain rail disintegration, and the S65 main bearings, how in the world did a water pump make it to a class action award?
This wasn't even awarded when BMW had plastic water pump impellers that disintegrated back in the day...but never got a dime for that issue. [EDIT] Corrected Engine Designation to the 4-cylinder per ezaircon4jc- Thx Last edited by M_Bimmer; 11-27-2020 at 12:23 AM.. |

I got that letter too. But my coolant pump is still fine (2015 535i). I saw a similar discussion in X3 forum. Also good to mention that for those who are eligible and have no problem yet, the warranty on the pump will be extended to 7 years/84000 mi after service date, whichever come first.

I got the letter. My 2011 535 pump failed at 61k miles, I had it changed at an Indy. I submitted the paper over a month ago and haven't gotten anything back.

I purchased my car with 84k miles unknown of waterpump replacement just shows bmw dealer inspection before sale. Recieved the mail last week currently at 107k miles and no issues with waterpump.

Has anyone with an LCI 535i had their water pump fail? Most of the posts I find with either slow or sudden water pump failures were from Pre-LCI cars. Not sure if some design changed or just fewer people are posting about it.
I'm getting close to 60k miles on the original water pump and thermostat and thinking whether I should preventatively replace this soon - would hate to get stranded since I take longer road trips.

We got one of these for both our 2015 328i and 2015 535i. I checked with my local BMW shop owner, and he didn't seem to think water pumps were a problem for either engine.
