F11 Tailgate aperture seal
.... anyone else suffered from how damn fragile they are compared to previous models?
Had 2 Newfy dogs in and out of the car for 10 years with no damage at all to the seal on my 2001 530i Touring ....... the new bitch didnt make a mark for 18 months on the 2011 330d Touring ..... but this brand new F11 530d Touring (new in August) already has 2 tears in the seal - pretty sure its the dog's claws - but the rubber feels softer and more granular than the previous models ... and can it be coincidence that the damage is exactly above the drain holes in the lower run - about 300mm either side of the centre ? (also noticed that its wearing fast on the B-post for the drivers door opening ... despite having lost weight LOL) oh, and replacement cost? - yep the usual mortgage-sized numbers ... £40 ish for the seal and at least an hours labour - all plus VAT, so thats a £200 sized hole I reckon ... Bah ......
