Lease End Question - Way Under Miles

Hello,

I am leasing a 550i that expires in April and my local dealer is now starting the discussion on my next vehicle.

I did a 3 year 36K mile lease and at this point I will return the car with around 28K miles or even less.

Is it possible to negotiate this situation in my favor for my next vehicle? I obviously paid for miles but didn't use them.

I'd be looking at a M4/M5/6 Series as a replacement. Doubt that matters any but that's what I am thinking

If you go onto BMW website and configure a vehicle under their build and price option, once you have configured your choices, you can then see how much the lease would be , at this point you get to enter the term of the lease you want along with what mileage you want , do a few calculations with say 24k and 36k mileage and you will see the difference of the lease price with the different mileage options that you chose .

I doubt this would play a significant role in your negotiation, but maybe I'm wrong. I mean, I'm sure they'll try to make things work, just doubt that 6-10K miles plays a big role in your favor.

Someone however will be very happy to pick up (your) low mile CPO soon , and you should/will too, with brand new "M' car.

Just bumping this thread as I am interested in the answer to this as well. I myself am a first time BMW lessee and will definitely be going under mileage even though I got the lowest lease available 36/10. My thinking is that you would check the KBB value at the time of trade in. If the value exceeds residual then I suppose you get the difference as a credit ? Please chime in veterans. Many thanks

I turned my lease in 2 months ago and upon leasing a new 535 I saw somewhere in the paperwork that you do get a few hundred dollars back if you are decently under mileage, just as in your situation.

If I were looking for an F10 I'd give your car serious consideration especially with the low mileage, tasteful mods and overall condition... From what I hear, BMW does have a pull ahead program, but it depends on the date of lease end and the model. If Im correct I believe a number of dealers have the pull ahead incentive for 3 series sedans (excluding the M3 of course). I have to go in for service tomorrow morning I will ask around for you.......

You're probably better off buying the car at the end of the lease and reselling it

I can tell you that here in Canada , BMW let me out of my lease on my 2012 F10 MSport with 5 months remaining on my lease and put me into a new 2015 F10 MSport with more options than I had on my 2012. Had I waited until my lease matured on my 2012, I would have turned the car in with 10,000 KMS over my lease allowance 10 @ .25/kms = $ 2500.00 plus I needed new front pads and discs another $ 1,000.00 and I would probably have had to replace 2 tires. I jumped at the chance to terminate my lease early, plus BMW gave me $5,000.00 credit towards the new lease and a very very low lease rate as a returning client.

BUT, on the flip side , F10's cost way more in Canada than in the USA and my lease payments are over $1200.00/month .

You can call BMW FS to confirm if you get some money back being under miles.

Just turned in my car and had similar mileage (29k out of 36k agreement).. I got out of my lease completely so there was nothing I can do but the lease manager said you can work with BMW FS to get some money back (or credit for your next agreement deal) if you get into another BMW.
