Exhaust mod - Trunk tray in the way

Hi all,

My car comes stock with only one exhaust on left side. I installed a Meisterschaft exhaust but on the right side I had to remove plastic covers from underneath and the right trunk box.
Now I have a huge hole next to the fuse box.

What do you guys have in there that comes with double exhaust? like the 535i sport.

I just went out and looked. The tray may not be as deep as yours, and I can't see anything past the muffler & heat shielding.

I guess only solution for now is to cut original tray, shorten it and glue ir back.
Wanted an oem route but can't figure out what tray is on other cars.

Just go to realoem.com & look for the tray from a 535.

Yeah I did, and no clear shot

I guess you guys don't have the hole since it doesn't need to accommodate that large bin. Totally different setup.

no. 2 part does not cover the hole. I have part no. 1 4 and 5

It's easier to drill out the rivets of the plastic box then replace it entirely with new sheet metal. Then add either RTV or body sealant to the sheet and if you choose to, add sound deadening and/or black carpet to match OEM look.

Thanks all !

Another solution for the ones interested is to modify the existing box.
1" drop plus foam part no.1 on the bottom and part no.5 on the diagram on top as oem.

Don't forget the heat shields underneath. There's heat under there, even if it's just a pipe & no muffler.

Yes, I believe it's pn. 51487193500.

Will install it next year with the downpipe install. Mine is a 530d 11"
Did the Meisterschaft dual mufflers on the back, no real gain in sound, guess next thing is a downpipe.

The heat shields underneath are two pieces.
