Hello,

I am on a journey to restore my US Spec 535i F10 and one of the things I wanted to install back (or so I thought) on my car was the headlight washer system. I did a lot of googling before I bought most of the system components second hand and from what I found out from my research is that all F10s with Xenon headlights from a specific year (I presume all LCI ones and after) are mandated to have the headlight washer system. I looked at my options list using BimmerWork.com and it does NOT show the option S502 for the headlight washer system but I thought maybe since its LCI they dont mention that option anymore as its under Xenon headlights.

Now the shop that is trying to install them is puzzled since did not find a plug for the headlight washer pump on the harness as well as the place where the pump should be sitting on the washer fluid reservoir is plugged.

Does this mean that my car indeed does not came with the headlight washer system from the factory?

I know 1st hand cars are equipped with 'S823 Hot-Climate Version' do not come with headlight washers nor heated steering wheel.

Conserve Thanks a lot for the quick reply. My car indeed has the Hot climate option so that might be it. At least I got the parts for so cheap so it doesnt bother me that much haha.

Any other feedback would be appreciated.

What you know is wrong. My car has hot climate version and heated steering wheel and headlight washers. Its a 2014 535i Canadian spec.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I used your vin to check for the options you have in your car and you have the option S502 - Headlight cleaning system listed there. So it seems like whatever lighting system one has Xenon or LED, 502 option should be listed in the options list for the headlight cleaning system to be present in the car. This is my current understanding.

BMW FOREVER is not wrong. I checked his vin and indeed he has Hot climate version vehicle AND S502 Headlight cleaning system. No need to get offensive. Both of you are trying to help with the best of your knowledge and you both did that and I appreciate it.

The bottom line is that even if you have hot climate version you CAN also have the headlight cleaning system. You need to check any BMW vin decoder website to decode your vin and check the options you have. You have to look for S502 - Headlight Cleaning System. If its there you have it, if its not there you don't simple as that.
