Climate control smells like dead fish.

Car is approaching 1 year anniversary since birth and recently the CC is throwing a smell out which is similar to dead fish. I can sort of live with it as the smell goes after 2/3 mins (smell timing is random), but the wife can't stand it. The car goes in for its first ever service in 2 weeks. I reported the problem to BMW during service booking and they have recommended that I pay £42 to have the aircon bomb process. Have any other people had this smell in their car?

I am going to guess that you leave your climate control in Auto all the time (with the air conditioning on). If not - that's the problem.

More likely is either the water drain from the evaporator is blocked, or water is getting into the car - normally through a dodgy windscreen seal.

Correct, Auto is always on.

A few months back BMW did replace a dodgy seal on the passengers side window because water was getting in. I will mention the dodgy window seal to the service team, cheers.

A previous car it was stagnent water in the system from a blocked breather/vent

Usually the air con flush solves it though
