Is it my imagination or have I just reached a secret level of power? Seems noticeably more eager, especially in Sport mode. Anyone else have a similar experience??

In my experience many a diesel engine doesn't free up to well over 10,000 miles, some are still getting better performance after 20,000 miles.

Often mpg improves as well. Enjoy!

Thanks Pete, the performance change was not as noticeable on my previous diesels which I had for over 20k miles...but hopefully the mpg (45) as measured by the OBC will improve, got 49 mpg from my 330d! The F10 does now feel like it's a sub 8 second 0-60, which on our roads is generally adequate, mid range acceleration is not bad either although not like the 330 obviously. Heart still yearns for a 530d but head says it's not worth the extra €15k (due to our Byzantine tax system)

Have you considered the Performance pack? one option for us here in Ireland, it is certainly worth having specially when over taking on A and B roads, of course never like a straight six but judging by the price not bad at all!

Not sure but from one other tread here it was not available for cars with pedals added to the Sport gear box, my one is 2011 with auto sport + peddles the pack was available!
check with Colm Quinn make sure its the Athlon garage as the Galway one is new, they had few mounted to cars so may have up-to-date information.

Thanks Martin, I know it was available on the older engine (N57?) but mine is a September 2014 - a brand new engine (B47)with 190 BHP was introduced last Summer so I'll check it out.

Hi the engine on my one is 47 too, the difference is the twin turbo with the facelift f10 only, and with the preface lift the Sport Auto box was available with the 520d, no longer with the facelift, the sport auto box is an option only with straight six cars and 525 I believe.
