One minor gripe so far is that whenever Navigation guidance voice "kicks-in", the radio or music source "mutes" whilst "she" is talking.

My Audi A6 had this as a setting "on/off".

Anyone know if there's such a choice on the F10/11 & where it is?

From the manual:

Switching spoken instructions on/offThe setting is stored for the remote control currently in use.
1. "Navigation"
2. "Map"
3. Select the symbol.
Symbol Meaning
(loadspeaker with check mark) Spoken instructions are switched on
(it shows the loadspeaker with line through it) Spoken instructions are switched off
Repeating spoken instructions
1. "Navigation"
2. "Map"
3. (loadspeaker with check mark) Highlight the symbol.
4. Press the controller twice.
Volume of spoken instructions
Turn the volume button while giving an instruction until the desired volume is set.
Saving the spoken instructions on the programmable memory buttons
The function for switching the spoken instructions
on/off can be stored on a programmable
memory button, refer to page 23, for quick access.

Thanks - but I'm actually looking for a way to stop the radio (or CD whatever) from muting when the instructions are being spoken.

In the Audi I was able to have the navigation speak over the radio (if that makes sense?)

I could be mistaken, but I think I remember reading a post here or on bimmerfest the other day mentioning that this feature was enabled with a recent software update, that it no longer completely muted the stereo when interrupting w/ nav instructions.
