2nd gear launch on automatic

I was wondering if it is bad to launch an automatic car from 2nd gear instead of first?

will the transmission be hurt in any way from doing this?

Doesn't it put you automatically in m2 when you switch it to manual mode anyways? I know it did in my e82

nope from a standstill it automatically downshifts to m1.
it feels so useless to me because i really feel the torque when pushing the car in m2.

power feels so dull until i push it in second gear, maybe its because sports mode jumps the rpm so quickly... I dont know lol, maybe i can swift early on first gear and try that.

Maybe because you're already moving? I can't see why you wouldn't want to start in 1st gear.

it just in first gear i dont feel much torque though when in second gear it pushes me back and i can feel that blip second lol of torque and the feel of car just flew/pushed ahead quickly vs first gear feels like dull linear acceleration and engine screams like its trying too hard. not that it doesnt accelerate fast, it does, just no feel of torque. maybe i am past the 5k rpm where car feels dull on this stock turbo before i realize and already in second gear. or could be because the torque come on early on that rest of the acceleration feels numb on first gear.

hopefully this is not the same case when i decide to move to pure stg2.
