How do we know if we have the latest software update (i.e. phone, media, nav, etc.) and if there are updates available? I'm talking about software updates that the consumer (car owner) has the ability to check for themselves - like the nav, media, phone versions, not the engine, steering, etc. updates. I know we are supposed to be able to download updates from the BMW global site but the media update hasn't changed since last fall and my car already has this anyway. How can I tell when a new nav update is available? I don't want to depend on the dealership to tell me.
