Oil change deal
Has anyone tried these guys? Just saw a link on facebook and signed up. Currently traveling in Europe, but I'm curious if anyone has used them? I will try to schedule an appointment when I get back. The annual memebership is less expensive than an oil change for most of us. Link below gets you 1 month for free.

So this cardashpass website is owned by Anafore Pte Ltd which is based in Singapore. How a BMW dealer is going to give you 2 oil changes for less than $85 a year is beyond me. I smell a rat and know where I'd be keeping my money.

https://techcrunch.com/2017/08/08/cardash-5-3-million/ The price did go up to $10/month over the last couple of days if you dont use the referral link. We will see what comes out of it. $6.95 for the first month when I get my first oil change is a small risk to take IMO. We will see. |

Yesterday I received an email with my member ID. With it came instructions for the shop to use. Seems simple enough for me. So instead of you paying when you pick up the car, the shop will just call these guys and get the payment. Attached is the second part of the member ID.

I would ask the shop if they intend to use the same oil and filter when they are reimbursed by this outfit that they would normally use. I am skeptical that any shop would lower (their otherwise inflated price) for somebody coming in with this.

Sorry, what do you mean? The store will not lower the price for this deal. They will charge whatever they usually do. If you exceed more than $250 in a year, you would need to cover that difference.

That's nothing. I had an indy shop that does good work for reasonable prices charge me $180 for a 550i oil change, since the car was in for a coolant leak I needed turned around in one day. They listed $80 for oil and $100 labor, or was it the other way around. I think it's the only shop performed oil change I can remember that wasn't part of an engine repair I've had done, and I'm not doing that again. And still that's nothing compared to outrageous prices some BMW dealerships have charged, as I'm sure someone will pipe up and tell.
The 550i and M5 have huge sumps, but 5 quart jugs of good synthetic oil can be had a good bargain so parts should just be $60-$80 for a home oil change if you have the tools and the interest in dealing with it. Home changes do generate more oily trash than a shop will, which does increasingly bother me about putting oily paper towels in the landfill, but the economic model for having it done at a shop to keep oil out of the landfill just isn't there. |

So far, no service center I have contacted has ever heard of it. They tried calling the phone number to get reimbursed for service and no one picks up the phone or returns messages. Just paid out of pocket for a service that should have been covered. So far, NO good.

I would email them, they are very responsive. You can most likely get reimbursed if you signed up before you got the oil change done.
My local indy shop only accepts local payments. I emailed with one of Cardash's representatives. They said to just send them the invoice and I will get reimbursed via Paypal. One year subscription is $84. My oil change is $130, so this paid for itself after just one oil change. Last edited by AmooManiak; 05-21-2018 at 02:21 PM.. |

Agreed, which is why I'm taking mine to a bmw specialized shop. These are not the only shops available, just shops that have already been used before. Keep in mind not everyone who has this subscription drives a BMW.
