Aftermarket Axle too short?

Hi, I've recently tried twice to replace the from pass Axle on my 2011 550xi. Both times the part is just a little too short, resulting in diff fluid leaking out... Anyone else run into this?

As with all things in life, you get what you pay for.

That especially applies to non-genuine parts, and of course... installation labor.

GKN is in fact a OEM for BMW on most cars. I would not expect any issue with a GKN axle purchased to fit your vehicle. I would however be speculative of the installer not doing it right. Is he replacing the seal and the lock ring per proper procedure?

GKN makes the Genuine axle, the only difference is the box and the price.

Did he just pull the clip off the old axle and put it on the new GKN?
