Oil Burning smell from 550i N63 motor

This is a bitch of a job for a 5$ O-ring.
Its the Vacuum Pump at the back right of the block. 3 little bolts in the worst place.

Basically the oil drips ever so slightly and lands on the exhaust. Its so small that you will not notice, and it doesn't land on the ground.

My 550 had a burning oil smell. Turned out leaking turbos!

ooh! that sucks. have to check mine. i have about 80k miles on it.

How bad was the oil smell? I have a slight burning oil smell when I turn off my engine.

just sometimes when i would push it. not constant, but i have an e46 and when the rocker cover leaks its about the same.
I couldn't smell the nice leather in the car anymore!
lol.

The repair bill under warrenty was 13K CDN.
New turbos
Top end rebuild
Engine pulled valve coking.
It's like 10 pages of parts and labor.

Thank goodness I bought a CPO
