Squealing brake noise
Both my front left and right have brake squeals when not braking, mainly going fwd at a slow speed (20-50kmph), the frequency of the noise changes with rotation, the slower the wheel is spinning, the slower the squeal is, left and right does not squeal at same intervals, as well it is not a constant squeal, again mainly at low speeds, and absolutely 0 noise when brakes are applied, both inner and outer pads on both front brakes have 10mm on them, therefore, there is no uneven wear.
Already tried wiggling and banging on heatshield for rocks, I dont think its rocks cause noise would be constant, as well i dont think its stuff stuck in pad, again due to nonconstant noise as well no noise when brakes are applied Any thoughts? Last edited by jackliu0527; 06-21-2020 at 11:56 PM.. |

Can you jack up the car and rotate the wheels by hand to see if it still makes noise? Then remove the rotors and retest. This would isolate the brakes and point towards wheel bearings if it's still occurring.
I've had a rock get lodged in such a way that I couldn't see it, but it was there, hiding between the rotor and shield. |
