From Dinan's website:

The Authorized Dinan Dealer will, without charge for parts or labor, repair or replace the defective Dinan component(s), as well as any original vehicle manufacturer’s component(s) that may have been directly affected by a Dinan component, using new or authorized remanufactured parts.

Did you ever get a chance to go to the track again?

So I went to the track with Dinan Stage2 and the exhaust flaps. The only issue I believe I had was that the 21" wheels are making me lose time. I had a little more gas than I wanted but I couldnt do anything about that. Also, the one track is at sea level while the other is 900 feet above which also plays into the numbers.

The best I was able to achieve was 12.65 @ 108.8

I going to change a few things and hit the track again next week. I think I need a tune for the exhaust flaps and the 20" wheels back on and we should be good to go...

I tried launching the car with all different variations of DSC & DTC on and off and it didnt make a differnce at all which shows BMW's traction & stability control DOES NOT make you lose any time or power. My best time from the first time at the track was with the DSC on.

On one of the runs I decided to go through the water box and see if I can spin all four to warm up the tires....To my surprise, as I gunned it starting in the water box, the car spun all four, went a little sideways, and spun them for like 50-100ft...It was awesome......

Here are the times from both tracks. The last run at englishtown was with the flaps open.

geez - talk about consistency!

If you're not experiencing DTC/DSC cutting power then you're getting good traction. Both will pull timing/close throttle if you spin the wheels. From your 60' times it doesn't look like that's a problem for you, so they won't engage.

Did you remember to weigh your car?

It's a definitely the wheels that slowed you down. I just put my stock 19s back on when having 20s previously and the car pulls so much more and with much less stress. How heavy are the 21s?

I know, the consistency is almost amazing, I was thinking the same thing.

No...I forgot to weigh it....I have to do it next time around. Its about 4800lbs.

I totally felt the same thing. The stress with the 21" is very noticable. The 20's pulled much more, plus the 21s are a very extreme setup with 21x11 in the rear and 21x9.5 in the front versus 20x10 and 20x8.5.

The 21s are HRE P40L which the Fronts are at 27.9lbs & Rears 29.8lbs.

The 20" Giovannas were Fronts 35lbs & Rears 40lbs.

I still cant figure out why the time/MPH with the exhaust cutouts open is almost the same?????? The cutouts eliminate one set of cats and mufflers?????

Damn those HRE's are a problem! In a good way

Nice job, after going to the track i think I would get the AWD for traction.

For comparison last friday map 7 race gas, intake, and dp 60ft 2.0, 13.0, 109mph. My suspension, tire, camber was clearly not doing any favors.

This is great info bc i would like to go up to the bigger 5, but not spend M money.

Thanks....I returned my E60 2010 M5 on lease and got this 550i xdrive and I have to say that I am much happier in this car than a two-wheel drive M since I live in NY and we get alot of bad weather.

I got caught in the last snow storm in NJ a few weeks ago and I had NO ISSUES getting around. Its very strange to be able to drive a 500HP car around in the snow. It almost wasnt registering in my brain that I was in a BMW 550i.....I drove for about 2hrs in about 4-6" of snow (highway and local roads) and the traction control light never even came on indicating that the tires were spinning. Keep in mind I dont even change the wheels/tires for the winter months which is always a big pain in the ass....Amazing....

Hands down the best AWD car that I have ever drove..I felt very safe and 100% in control of the car at all times....

I'm surprised at the drop off in trap speed your second trip to the track. I'm also curious how you plan on getting a tune for the exhaust flaps? I don't think Dinan will alter their tune to suit non Dinan modifications so what else do you have in mind? That is the reason I haven't gotten the dinan because I don't want to pay $3k for a tune and then when I add mods I'd have to discard it for another tune.

Thanks for the update. That's 50lbs lighter than my car and I don't have AWD!

Makes me wonder how accurate these scales are...
