Angry ugh!!! wife took my car and curb rashed my front wheel!

Sooooooooooooooo i'm at work and i get a call from the wifey that she borrowed my car to take our youngest son to school and apparently she came too close to the school curb and she hit it! i don't know how bad it is and she's too afraid to send me a picture of it so i'm at work dying wondering how bad it is?! according to her she thinks it's bad enough that i'll go and kill myself not that i would but now it ruins my day and every other day until i get it fixed driving around thinking every driver out there can see it as clear as daylight pointing and laughing saying "that's what you get for buying expensive wheels!" or when you're next to another driver at a stop light or intersection and they're admiring your car until they see the huge gouge in your wheels and give you that "oh i'm sorry look" ugh! not sure if i can get through the day now i got this on my mind! oh, and trying to play the good guy by not blaming her at all and saying..."it's okay honey...it's just a wheel!" when deep down inside i'm ready to blow lol!

(30 minutes later)

okay, i'm cooled down to not go postal on my coworkers here since i don't have pictures or what not what have you guys been paying for wheel repairs and refinish? i'll have to reach out to GetYourWheels to see if it can be repaired and refinished. kinda sucks because now that's just money i have to spend to fix something rather than use it towards my skirt extensions and rear bumper paint, ect. i know there's some of you out there say "it's just wheels...get over it!" i know...but it sucks! alright...i think i'm done ranting. i'll post some pictures of the damage when i get home today

just in case for those of you who don't know what my wheels look like:

i will say don't worry about it but i'm sure my face expression will show something totally different! i have a feeling she may turn it around on me and say it's my fault for putting those on? she's pretty good at that!

well obviously, its always your fault, even if its something you didn't do, just accept it and have a shot of tequila to calm your nerves before you get home LOL and move on!

I know what you mean and the only silver lining is you didn't do it yourself. At least you have someone to blame!

Sorry bro!!!

You have the right idea, long warm and consoling hug, followed by "these things happen, what matters to me is that you're OK, it's just a car".

Then you remember this for years to come and bring it up every time she tells you how you drive too fast, spend too much on a car... etc. Pretty much anything from now on can be followed by "remember that time you "ruined" my rim".

That sucks!!!

I don't even let my wife drive my vehicle since her car has a bunch of large scratches and curb rash and the interior looks like a homeless person lives there. When I ask her how the damage got there, she always has no idea but she insists it wasn't her because apparently they're a lot of thieves stealing cars, curb rashing the wheels then returning the car to its original spot.

Good luck and hopefully the damage is less than you're imagining.

Honestly... its not worth it. I'm a car guy to soul but I would never let that affect my relationships with family/significant other. Get it fixed and life goes on. I've already been through three CF front lips from family taking my car and damaging it (last one was completely gone). And that's something that we have to accept that there could be damage and the person that did it, truly didn't mean to.

End of the day, I know it sucks but always look at the long road. Cars and toys are just temporary; family is forever.

I am sure your wife feels pretty bad knowing how much you are into your car.

If it is a car that my drives, I am ready for anything.

Those wheels look ok and can easily be repaired.

And yes, it is your fault for putting on such nice rims

Is she ok? Judging by the damage I hope the airbags didn't go off, lol! That looks like a $600 dollar bill to me. Damn!

Ouch!!!!

That's painful to look at. Looks like she showed that curb who's boss.

Try not to be too hard on her since I'm sure she feels awful. Get it repaired good as new and you can file away this incident for future extortion use.

She should've evenly curbed the whole rim to look like a pinstripe sorry, too soon

We all have our situations. Recently a friend of mine who's a film director asked me to feature the GT in a music video shoot. One of the artists somehow knocked into the top canard and stepped on it. There are some hairline cracks in the clear coat, but thanks to some intuition (and Q-Bond, amazing stuff), I was able to mend the canard back on, holding even stronger than before. The cracks are an eyesore to me, but no one has noticed them really unless I point them out.

Luckily your wheel is three-piece so only the lip needs refinishing. I don't think it'll cost you too much. I feel your pain, but at least its mendable. Good luck bro.

Thanks. Everybody for chiming in! I'm not mad at all...just really bummed about the whole thing! I know she didn't mean it but damn...it's like she curbed the whole wheel lol! Didn't want to ask her exactly what happened because I would have just told her she can't drive for $hit haha and than that would have been a whole new argument. I did get a hold of my wheel guy so he said to take pictures of the damage and send it to him. And if it's fixable I can Fedex the wheel to him. So no worries! Good thing about this is she feels so bad that instead of waiting til May to order the carbon fiber side skirt extensions I can order it next week!

Sorry bro, but this is totally your fault. My wife and I have been together for 23 years now, married for 13. I think the only reason we have made it this long is because she knows how particular I am about my cars and she has made a conscious decision to not drive my vehicles. I tried teaching her how to drive a manual back when I first got my 2001 325ci brand new and our 7 year relationship (at the time) almost ended within 2 hours. Since that time we have lived happily ever after.
