Funny--At ~ 9 this morning I just called that number (I think posted by you) and they transferred me to someone who looked up my car by the last 7 of the VIN. Clearly did not sound like an operator/customer service type so I'm guessing someone in vehicle processing.

Ok .. here is the latest:

I did finally get a hold of someone at the VDC (a master mechanic), he looked up my vehicle, it is scheduled for completion tomorrow (Sept. 25th). I am having some BMW performance parts put on... CF spoiler and splitters. He didn't see anything in the notes that said there was any damage to my vehicle.

Just an FYI, when I called 912-267-8500, the last time... I was told that they can't give out info about the cars... I pushed, and found out it is because they have been getting a lot of calls from people today asking about their vehicle status... and just today created this rule... HAHAHAHAH!! We brought down the VDC.

As I posted earlier they let me know my car left there on 9/22. I almost hate to say it but the dealership confirmed the arrival of my car just before 5 pm today. My plan is to hit the credit union first thing to finalize the financing and then pick up the car. Already have a detailer coming to the house to OptiCoat the car while the paint is pristine. Am hoping for both of you that the delays will be short!

Too funny. Well done--you were the one to track down the number!!!

Interesting twist: I spoke to the VDC again (they are no longer taking calls from customers, by the way, due to the heavy number of callers): and my car was coded today as QA'd (approved) WITHOUT necessitating a new rim or repair. Apparently, whatever issue, blemish, dirt that was seen in Germany when they coded the car under the global "Rim Dent" category (where any and every issue noticed in Germany for rims is placed) was not seen as an issue at the VDC that would require a new rim or any repair. My car is approved for tranport to my dealer now. Thoughts? The VDC says this happens frequently, as the German guys walk up and down rows of cars and immediately code any issues or potential issues that they notice (including a dirty rim), without providing any detail in the computer system, and when the car gets to the VDC, they inspect the alleged issue and either leave it alone, fix it, or replace it.

Thanks. Really happy with the car, which looks awesome after being detailed and coated at my house immediately upon delivery. Am heading out of town tomorrow but will post some pix this weekend when I'm back. I'm hoping to see some pix of your cars soon, too!

Cool, look forward to see the beast. My car is out of the VDC, and on its way to dealer. Should pick up Friday.

Well, I finally picked her up. She is so nice looking in person. Here are some pictures from the dealership.
BTW, The dealer had the 2013 LimeRock Edition M3, on the lot for sale.

I wish I knew ??? It has been raining here in Houston for the past two days... The irony is that when I test drove a used one two months ago, it was rain then. So, technically, I have never driven an M3 in the dry. hahahaha

Looks great. You should consider switching out the reflectors for painted ones on the front. Looks much cleaner without the orange.

Thank you, stealth! You should take some credit for my choice of IBM, and your recommendation about reflectors is an excellent one--didn't notice until after your comment.

Hope you'll have your M5 here soon--will look for it around town!

I'm going to miss the Imperial Blue. It is a fantastic color, especially for South Florida.
