I did have a 12.4 at 110mph with stage 2 and 20s....I haven't seen another F10 do any better than 12.4-12.7. like lacster said to me, you wont get any better than a .1 - .2s difference even with an added stage and he was exactly right.

My feeling is the car would do a 12.2-12.5 even with Stage 4. thats of course with xdrive.

All,

I am not an F10 550 owner but I did have the opportunity to drive the Dinan Rep in Northeast 550 yesterday, which was a stage 3 in engine and suspension. From what he stated on his vehicle the stage 4 and 5 is the intercooler and CAI. The software to go with these higher stages will not add more power, but will better calibrate the vehicle to the IC and CAI which will provide increased gains.

I was really surprised as to how linear and fast this vehicle was. Did not feel any turbo lag at all and was a very fast car considering its mass.

I am a little shocked that Dinan does not offer any HFC DP for this car. His 550 did have the axle back system which had a nice tone, but with DP I think this vehicle could be vicious sounding and add more performance.

I was very impressed with the car's performance. I guess the CAI is not out to market yet, but this rep is getting a new 550 and will have stage 4+ components.

For those that are debating the performance upgrades on this particular car, from the time I spent in the car it is well worth it. A sleeper car for sure!

Intercoolers being installed right now and stage 4 being programed. Will report back on how I like it. Hopefully getting a dyno tomorrow if my springs come in time to finish the car...

Thank you Hunter for a great and easy transaction. You are the man!

I have them installed on my 550i and don't experiece what you are describing. There is some very minor turbo noise at initial take off, but nothing like what you described.

I also have stage 4 and there is no turbo sound difference that I can hear.

I'd say the difference in power is comparable to driving your car on a crisp cool day. It feels like it is breathing better. At this point I probably have enough power to keep me happy. When stage 5 comes out, I might do it just cause... Why not...

I just ordered the intercoolers cant wait to get them, I spoke with Scott over at Dinan and he tells me they should have downpipes within the next 90 days or so.. That will be my next move, the guys at Active Autowerke here in miami have a set of downpipes that have shown a huge increase of power on the dyno.

I will take the car to the dragstrip as soon as its all installed and report back on times..

I spoke with one of the Dinan reps and he said they ordered the material to produce the intakes last week and they will be announced "very shortly"

Looking forward to it

I heard the Audi guy say beemers were crap and the Lamborghini guy said Ferrari was crap...

Dinan is $$$ but I've got a warranty on my 70k car and it hauls ass without having to worry every time I go the dealer.

How much is all that stuff? Why not buy a M5 and get a better car.

I heard a rumor that Dinan will be offering turbo upgrades along with Intake and oil cooler upgrades.
I read somewhere that AMS was showing interest, they do good work on GTR's, I would like to see what they could do with the whole engine line.

Some people like to mod, and not drive around a OEM stock car. To each their own.

You’re not modding the looks or doing anything different, you are paying for a canned tune and some bolt ons to make your car more like an OEM stock M5. But if you got a real good deal on the 550i and wanted to play with what you can do with it, I understand. I was just curious.

Will they do package pricing? If I were to buy the tune, intercoolers, exhaust, etc... at one time, would they (Dinan) give a break in pricing?

You should be able to get 15% off from dealer and negotiate the install hours a bit.
