Capacity of Pro-Media music hard- drive?

Anyone know as it won't accept all my stored musicfrom my I-Pod, which has nearly 12GB of music on it?Touch annoying as can't be too expensive to give it similar capacity to a several year old Classic I-Pod.

I thought it only ripped from CD's or thumb drives? I know for a fact the only USB port that will work for a thumb drive rip is the one in the glove box.

(Now that said that someone is going to prove me wrong :-) )

It does import through glove box Aux in port but lots of tracks/albums missing,I guess through lack of memory capacity, hence the query.

Why not just buy a physically tiny USB stick and leave it in the glove box with all your music? I bought this tiny little 16GB wonder...

Of course it takes a little bit of work to get iTunes playlists converted into m3u playlists that the BMW can read off the flash drive.

I have not used either of these programs.. but here are links to Mac and Windows programs that claim to do it. I'll know more when I try this myself.

thanks Davesf, sounds a good solution but may get my 20 year old engineering student son involved or wait till you've done it and can give idiot proof instructions!
