Heated steering wheel not working

I'm having a problem with my heated steering wheel not working. Dealership can't find anything wrong and they only have an m5 to test. The m5 wheel gets considerably hotter but they are saying the m5 wheel is different. They want to compare it to another 4 series. So if you have what I'm looking for and willing to drive to Fields in Lakeland I'll pay for your time. I'm serious. Pm me. Thanks.

Sounds a little like an online personal ad.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that the ambient temperature plays a huge role.

None of my heated steering wheels from BMW has ever worked consistently.

The only time they get really hot is when the ambient temperature is really cold.

Otherwise, you can't even tell that it is working.

I think the BMW philosophy is to take a really cold steering wheel that is so cold it's uncomfortable to touch and reverse that effect.

Beyond that, it's unpredictable.

Sometimes it really hot and other times it's room temperature.

Quick update. They ordered a new steering wheel. Just installed it yesterday and it still doesn't work... They aren't sure how to proceed and will most likely open up a puma case. I'm starting to get frustrated as I'm paying for a $63k 435i but driving a $30k 320i...
