found a solution for F10's manufactured prior to the bluetooth update

So I have been looking for a solution that would allow me to stream music/audio from my phone to the car wirelessly and found this device for $33. It allows me to stream music from my phone using the device and take calls using the cars bluetooth. It works great and seamlessly. The two systems do NOT interfere. It is too big to fit in the hand rest, so I tucked it under the passenger seat. It looks clean.

hope this helps.

2014 535i

So, I just traded in my 2012 528i for a 2014 535i.
I could connect my Samsumg Galaxy S3 to my 528i and stream music without any problems. Now on this new 535i I cant figure out how to connect my phone for audio streaming. I can only connect the SG3 to function as a phone. Any help is appreciated.

I had this issue too on my 14 535d. It seems I had to start playing my music from the phone first when it connected via Bluetooth for it to work. I have a loaner 13 X1 28i today and same thing happened. Same trick above worked. Very weird.

Wait, do you have to have the BMW ConnectedDrive servers to be able to stream music?

How did you power this device? It looks like it plugs in to a home AC outlet. Is it USB powered through the center console? This looks like a simple easy solution but am just trying to determine how it is powered. Any help is appreciated!
