ASS doesn't function after software update
Seems like I'm not very lucky with my car lately. I have just had it programmed to the most current software version, and now the Auto Start/Stop doesn't function at all. Yes - I'm fully aware of all the conditions when it's normal, but tried everything and it never shuts down the engine.
I was hoping that the reason is the battery being slightly drained during the programming process, but the dealer told me they always do it with external power connected. Any clues?

no, but I bet there are a lot of people on this forum that wish they did have this behaviour!
I could only suggest the obvious really such as the approx. 10 conditions when it doesn't kick in (listed in the manual) and if the software update had by some chance had ASS default as off (or last setting possibly) but te LED on the button would tell you that. |

Ahh... I hate the auto start/stop option. Thankfully my car remembers my last setting (off) and keeps it that way.

My 2012 528i just got programmed with service yesterday. It didn't turn off once on the way home.
I live in Hawaii so cold is not an issue and traffic sucks. Took me 1.5 hours to travel 20 miles of stop and go interstate traffic. I actually prefer the feature. |

Just put your car to sleep for several hours - the ASS will work normally the next day.

It'll also keep the engine running in warm weather until the cabin is properly cooled.
