2010 vs 2011 - F10 Model Year Difference?
I have the choice between two cars, very similar spec (ie everything I want), very similar mileage but one is 2011 plate (August) and the other is 2010 plate (November). The 2010 plate is in the colour I want, 2011 is in silver. Both highly spec'd up, and have the 3.0 Diesel.
The 2011 plate has elec boot, a nice to have for me but not on my list, but it is £800 more. Did much change between 2010 and 2011 model years? This is more important to me then an elec boot, and ultimately what could sway me, if there were a couple of 'biggies'. Thanks guys |

I'd be especially keen if anyone can shed any light on the 'new' 530D engine, with a minor boost in power (from 242 to 254) and improvement in mpg from around 42 to 46mpg. This seemed to come in around August 2011.

Are you sure that the car isn't built after Sep 2011(61reg)? That is when the MY2012 cars came out and had a few differences including auto stop/start, lower tax bracket, power upped by 13bhp, suspension tweaks as well apparently. I'm sure there are some minor electrical differences as well but cant remember them.

From the top of my head, the combox upgrade was carried out on build week 35 (2010) onwards, what does this mean? before no postcode search on satnav and bluetooth streaming, after new combox the aforementioned was enabled.
I believe also heated seats became standard instead of optional in 2011, someone please correct me if I am wrong. Hope that helps |
