Another M5 Diffuser Question

I have a 535i Msport and I've been dying to get an M5 diffuser. I realize I might run into a couple of issues:

1. Is the adapter/absorber necessary if I don't care to lose the Comfort Access trunk feature? Will the diffuser still fit?

2. If I decide not to keep the stock exhaust instead of doing custom tips, will an aftermarket M5 exhaust by Megan Racing such as this fit a 535i with an m5 diffuser w/o the adapter? Can a local muffler shop make it fit? I know Megan makes one specifically for the 535i but this one fits the m5 diffuser plus it costs less.

3. And lastly, I live in California will I have a problem passing smog emissions and visual with a Megan Axle Back?

Cat-backs are OK. It's the intake that the Nazi's don't like.

keep in mind that if you decide to go with the M5 diffuser you'll need to make minor adjustments to the exhaust to line up correctly as the M5's exhaust openings actually sits a little bit inward vs the 5 series which sits more outward. another thing is if you want the tips to sit flush or portrude out past the lip of the diffuser like so:

if you decide with the Megan's if you get the M5 you'll need to make adjustments again i believe. if you stick with the Megan's for the 535 it's just cutting the muffler out and installing the new one in. quite a few guys went with the Megan Supremos because they have a 4" quad tip vs the 3.5" tip.

here's an example of one member who went with the M5 diffuser on his 528 but had to make adjustments to his exhaust to make it work

as far as passing visual i never had issues passing with any of my exhaust.
