Would u mind telling me which Breyton 20 inch you are using? seems your 20 inch is lighter than Grimlock's 19 inch?

Am I right to say that generally Breyton is lighter than OEM 17 inch ? thx bro.

I weighed the wheels before they were installed and they we're 24.1 and 26.3 F & R in the 20" set. I forgot the weight the factory wheels but as I recall both were above 30lbs

I got the mirror finish and on the box it indicated "made in Germany." not sure if this has changed recently or if the finish has anything to do with it as they were more expensive than the black or silver painted finishes.

FWIW I had a set of HRE forged mono blocks on my 997 and to be quite honest the improvement is immaterial. At least as measured by pants to the seat the peformance increase wasn't noticeable. But damn they did look good.

In the end I'm fully content w the breytons I have on my 528. The car is our family vehicle and the performance is sufficient. They have also been properly banged and scraped up and guess what? Doesnt hurt as it would/did with $10k+ wheels. I'm sure all the benefits of a lighter wheel/tire combo exist as indicated above, and if indeed then there should be a marginal improvement vs stock given the factory rim + RFT setup.

I the end do what you like and what feels right, it's your car and no one else's opinions should matter.

My 2 cents

Depends, really need to compare apple to apple on weight for each wheel.

Another tip, if you are clumsy like me who scrap and scratch the wheel all the time. Get powder coated finish instead of polish or mirror finish. Then it could be repainted easily and costs only HK$300 or so for each fix.

Unless I'm mistaken the model should be gts or gtsr don't remember exactly. I can't find my record/note that I jotted down the details but I think my previous quoted weights should be right. I also had a combined wheel plus tire weight but don't remember that. Running bridgestone RE001 in 20s.

At - think it would be fair to say any aftermarket wheel with regular tires will be lighter than the oem 17" plus run flats (which are notoriously heavy). Think no matter which set you opt for the end result will be marginally better than stock.

Grimlock - no worries didn't take any offense to the weights you quoted just trying to add some additional points for our fellow forum members to reference.

Separately anyone have experiences with forgiato wheels? Looking at a set for my new toy and haven't heard much aside from one shop suggesting them. Thoughts?

Said my final goodbyes to my beloved 997 today...

After research and visit to tyre shops, my finalist for 20 inch are as follows:

1. Morrr Wheels V8.2, about @$8000
2. BC (Taiwan), cost not cheap @$7600
3. Forgiato, about @$12,000, v exp
4.360 Forged, v good style too, but not yet check the price. Koby, u can consider this brand for u new toy...
5. Forgestar, selling at @$6000 in HK. This is the only wheel I found that u can buy from US, about @ close to $5000 including delivery.

IF Morr is cheaper than 360, I have tendency to go for Morr. Seems no choice or else I shouldnt change.......

Just go for Morr. Maximum concavity, good price, and a real head turner. You can check out mine if you want. BTW, what's the color of your car?

Thanks AT for the research work. I'll take a closer look at the 360 Forged wheel in my quest for new wheels. Still have a couple months before the toy arrives. Also considering ADV1s as well. Nice clean style and reasonably priced...

How much is the ADV1 cost? I found their wheels look best among all US company.

Not sure if black will go well with sophisto grey. Silver might be best. You can ask Mlai. He tried several sets and colors already.

Just ordered a 528i L4.....thinking about options,

Must go options
1. Sunroof
2. rear camera

Consider
1. tailgate
2. surround view
3. head up display

Very true. You will loose the details of the wheels. I ended up with brushed/polished and they stand out real well.

But I will also suggest trying two tones. Polished lips, gloss black face.....

Thanks. Will consider that too. But two tones wheels normally are two piece and sounds more expemsive....

If you drive v sporty, you can consider dynamic damper control.
RikuE90 and I ordered this already to our 528. No adaptive drive for 520 and 528 (bad news!) Likewise, I have sunroof and rear camera.

Surround view--I try that too, woh is expensive woh, somthing close to $20,000. Head up display costs about $20,000 too.

I personally prefer to leave money to spend on forged rims and M front bumper.

If you have a baby, get tail gate. You will need to open and close that trunk for millions of times and believe me, the F10's need quite a bit of force to close it down.

The others, not too useful. I have softclose doors and they are awesome. Never need to bang the door again. Anthracite headliner is cool too as well as electric blinds.

For $20K, I'd rather use that for nicer wheels than HUD or surround view.
