Question on configurable m sport 5
CAn you customize sport setting to have sportier throttle , sportier suspension , sportier gear change but normal / light steering?
I did not see this option when driving the M sport 2 I have a may production with June delivery , not sure if the new gauges can be retrofitted to the 2012 , i already gave a deposit so not sure if they will give my money back or use that money for a July 203 production I got a good deal 5k off on 2012 528xi, not sure if they going to honor that deal on a 2013, lol I can live without 2013 changes , no biggie Any ideas? |

I've just picked up a Uk 530d msport. When you select sport, the sterring feels a littel bit more weighted - although it seems subtle to me.
The gearbox hang on to the gears more and the throttle response is more sensitive, so you ge more power for less movement of the loud pedal. what you can't do , at least on mind is configure this sport setting. Now I'm 9% sure that when I test a 2011 520d msport , I could configure the sport setting to either chassis and or gearbox. now in the case in having he msport suspensions, chassis just means the steering as the suspension is just passive. I was expecting this behavour with my 2012 model but this doesn't seem the case. Anyone else with Uk msport cars with just the standard msport suspension care to confirm whether hey can configure his sport mode and if so , what model year it is? The only thing I have managed to configure as regards this is not to display he change of mode on eh control display. So when I change to sport , I just get confirmation on e instrument cluster and not on the 10 inch display. |

Drove a 535 xi m sport while awaiting my 55 xi sport. Looking through the menu you can only do power train and chassis. No option for steering. I enjoyed the comfort steering settings when parking. I don't notice the same smoothness in steering feel on mine. Not sure if m sport settings are slightly different or if it was the bigger wheel combo?

The M5 is the only model which allows you to have separate settings for power train, suspension and steering.

I'm 99% sure that when I borrowed a 2011 5120d msport (uk) model, there was the option to configure the sport setting to eitehr chassis and or drivetrain.
As msport suspesion (at least in the UK) is passive, for chassis that would just be steering. my 530D msport though has none of this , you cannot make any changes to sport at all. not sure if this is something that has changed from 2011 to 2012 or not. Any Uk contributors here with a msport and no fancy suspension options throw any light on this? |
