MB Quart QM200.3BMW on sale at MB Quart's website
MB Quart has their BMW speaker system, the QM200.3BMW, on sale for $400 currently directly from MB Quart (normally $600). According to MB Quart, it's a drop in system for the F10's front door speakers (mid and tweeters) and the underseat woofers. From what I gather, it's meant to use an aftermarket amp, as passive crossovers are included for the mids/highs.

Am I reading this correctly...this includes the subs underneath the seat as well? Something hat BSW has yet to do?! I read and I don't think an aftermarket amp is needed.

My car has the SA676 HiFi stereo, which is the base US stereo system. I have a mid/tweeter combo in each front door, center dash, and each corner of the rear deck, each of which provides a 4-ohm impedance to the respective amp channel utilizing a passive external crossover. Each of these combos is powered by one channel of the factory amp. The MB Quart system also uses an external passive crossover, and also provides a 4-ohm impedance on each channel. Thus, for the base HiFi stereo system, the mid/tweeter combo is a bolt-in replacement and compatible with the factory amp. The woofers provided in this kit are 4-ohms each. I have not measured the impedance of the woofers in the base HiFi system to see what they are. Technically, the woofers can be powered by the factory amp, but I don't know how loud they will be since I don't have any efficiency specs for them, or the factory woofers. Regardless of all that, I plan on replacing the factory amp in my car with a couple of old-school Rockford Fosgate amps. |

I have the premium sound system (600w) factory amp. I just had the Bavsound speakers installed in the center channel, rear doors and rear deck. I had the MBQuart QM200.3 BMW set put in the front doors and the 8''s under the seats. All drop in powered off of the factory amp. I also have 2 JL Audio 10'' subs in the trunk running on a JL Audio 600w mono amp. we used the Audio Control LC6i to tap signal. All I can say is this set up is fantastic!

How does it sound running both 8's under the seat and 10's in the back? |

The MB Quart 8's are acting as a good mid bass picking up mid tones that I previously never heard. With the 10's I don't have to turn the bass up to high and keeps the mids from distorting. What did you end up putting in? |

2 amps with a battery backup. I'll have everything dyno matted...doors, floor, roof and trunk. I'll eliminate the rear shelf speakers and have the components installed in the door instead. The center speaker will also be eliminated. I'll lose just a bit of my trunk against the rear seats since I told them to leave me as much trunk space available. This will all be done after winter. But if I decide not to I'll end up doing the MBQuartz. |
