My Toyota Tacoma truck had only 10K miles for 6 years. 4 batteries died. That's why I became very concerned with battery, not to mention the battery in F10 is 4-5 times more expensive than the one in Tacoma. And, it's not just about the cost, it is the inconvenience that the battery dies when you need to drive the car.

Just want to draw some conclusions on the battery issue.
1. From what I have found, the battery is designed for deep cycling. It won't start charging until it has discharged 40%. 2. The alternator won't charge the battery unless your foot is off the gas pedal, thanks to energy regeneration. I drive 30 miles a day. But most of them are cruising on highway. Battery simply doesn't get charged enough. It is down to 75% in one week and 54% in 2 weeks. I don't feel comfortable to let it below 50%. So I have to charge it with a battery charger every another week. |
