BMW black door handle covers?
I have a 2011 BMW 535xi and I wanted to put on black door handle covers instead of chrome. Does anyone know where I can get them?
Thanks |

Can't. You can take the chrome piece out and paint it then reinstall. Be careful though cause my dealership told me I can't just by the chrome insert. So if it breaks coming out may have to buy whole new door handle. If you take the car to a good auto body shop they will do the whole thing also will be responsible if it breaks so it's a win win for you.

had mine matte black vinyl wrapped (they can do gloss too). took the guy like 30 min and cost me $40. Didn't even remove the covers. Personally the way I would go rather than paint.

I've had it on for prolly 2 months or so now. Idk about the peeling. It's not really an area I actually touch or anything (tend to just pull the inside of handle). But yeah I guess worst case it's pretty easy to fix.

or install Lamin-X protective film over the chrome insert - one sheet will do all 4 doors. Installed for a year now and still looking good. Install is about 30 minutes and includes the knife.

An easier way is to spray some plastidip on the chrome to make it matte black.
that stuff is durable but the best part is you can just peel it right off if you wanted to. Just mask, spray and you are done. I plan on doing this during spring time. Alan

Just had vinyl applied today to the door handle chrome. I had previously applied vinyl to the shallow depression in the turn signal repeater fixtures. It's barely noticeable and looks like a small wedge of black. The vinyl color I chose is close as I could get it to the window pillar color.
