How can Code out adaptive headlights using bimmer code?

Hey guys my 2012 pre lci 535 x drive was getting a good ole car wash and then all of a sudden all these light malfunctions happened. The passenger side Angel eyes are out and the driver side REAR tail lights hyper blink. The passenger side indicator hyper blinks too. I opened the headlight cap and let everything dry out and the blinkers all work properly now. However the right Angel eye turns on when I unlock the car but as soon as I start the car I get "adaptive headlight malfunction" and my passenger side Angel eyes turn off and no longer turn back on. I don't know if the tms is damaged but I am thinking that if I'm able to code OUT the adaptive headlights then my Angel eyes will turn back on.

That will not fix DRL. The module controls everything besides low/high beam. Better to isolate issue and correct. Check module, it may still be OK

Everything is now working perfectly again

However I keep getting the adaptive headlight malfunction error and cannot clear it using bimmerlink

Can anyone help me clear this code?

You need to change your headlight control module. I had similar issues after my control module was damaged by water. I bought a used one on eBay and changed it yesterday. Here's a link to a video I used:

How much did you pay for the module?

Thanks for the video link

Did you have to do any coding after installing?

I was able to find one that was from the same model and year as my car on eBay. It was inexpensive and I decided to take a chance (glad I did). No coding was needed.

BimmerCode - how to code out adaptive headlights

I've done so much research but can't seem to find the answer for F10. I know it can be done as people have commenting saying online that they've done it. Does anyone know how to code out adaptive headlights for the F10 using bimmercode?

I figured out the solution

After many days of trying to code this thing. It was 100% possible to code out the infamous "ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHT MALFUNCTION" using bimmer code for the F10

Go to footwell module and expert mode and select FRM 3400 and change the following three sections

ALC_AFS_ENABLE > nicht aktiv
AHL_ENABLE > nicht aktiv
LWR_AHL_TYP > ohne_lwr

No more Adaptive headlight malfunction error code

When doing this, you will loose the adaptive feature which matters when driving at night.

It looks like your TMS module is bad. TMS module is only about $50 on eBay.

Yeah otherwise the tms module needs to get coded. I ended up getting a new tms module but I will be doing custom headlights anyways though so will have to disable adaptive headlight

Thanks so much for providing this code! I've been dealing with this error message for longer than I can remember and just came across your fix. Much appreciated!!

Just a word of warning, the LCIs use a different sized module - it has the red gasket and three screw holes. That one DOES need coding. Pre LCI module is slightly smaller and just has two screw holes.

It’s probably just worth buying a new one from an aftermarket shop considering you’ve had the car for awhile, it sucks these F10’s are prone to this type of headlight damage.

Car washes, rain or just condensation really destroy them.

Did you code it yourself? I'm in the same boat--replaced the module but now need to program it.
