Lowering your ride H&R
I know there are many H&R drop threads. Im very close to pulling the trigger on this mod and i have been wanting to for months now. How do you guys feel about it if youve done this? Im sitting on 20" Gianelle rims. i love the ride and bounciness. The springs will look awesome im just hesitant on the ride if i install the springs.

This is a good retrofit and not too complex, see the DIY thread: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=628336
Together with sway bars upgrade: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=717144 this will significantly improve the F10 car's ride quality and cornering. |

I've got H&R's "Sport Springs" on now; they're supposedly the more aggressive lowering ones. Well...I'm still wanting a tad more lowering. I have the full blown DHP or adaptive suspension, I forget what it's called but it allows me the flexibility to change my suspension characteristics on the fly. So going to coilovers wasn't an option for me.
Just wishing I could get just another 3/4 inch lower. Then it'd be perfect. |

Do it man. I have the more aggressive sport springs to and you can barely feel the diff. I agree with the guy who posted about wanting a bit more drop. I'll probably be selling mine for coils. They have about 50 miles on them.

Nah... Still enjoying the ability to change the comfort settings on the fly too much to give it up.

Goodbye float, hello kerblam

Downside no one has mentioned in this thread is that, with 1.3 inches less ride height on the front, there is a lot less suspension travel available to absorb the energy imparted by road issues, particularly unavoidable potholes. My 535i is hitting the rubber bump pads more frequently, feels catastrophic, can surprise passengers. |

I cut my bump stops to get more travel before they bottom out and so far I haven't hit them yet.

H & R Sport are perfect. The ride is great, maybe still a little on the soft side. But then again, I liked the suspension on my 2008 550I M-Sport.
I'll put up some pics later. |

I love the ride on my car now after the H&R SS upgrade. Took away most all of the float in the ride without being too firm.
At LEAST the M-Sport variants should have come like this. Even in Sport+ on the DHP it was too soft and floaty for me. This is infinitely better. And better looks too. It's a can't-miss option.
