I just got my 2011 550i back from the "customer care package" campaign service, and after I reinstall my BMS stage 2 back onto my car, i try to start the car, but end up getting the "drivetrain malfunction" error and the car won't start at all.

i shut off the car completely and check all the connection to make sure i install it correctly (when i do that, i can hear the liquid inside the intercooler running), after checking and trying to start the car several time with no luck, i decide to take the BMS off, then my car went back to normal (except the check engine light was on for about an hour)

so does anybody else with BMS stage 2 has the same problem after the service campaign? thanks

i had the same issue.. terry had to send me a new version because i have one of the first versions. Now it works perfect.

i will contact Terry and see if i can get a new version of the stage 2.

I have the same issue. Did you get a new version and did it remedy the situation?

Good info.. is the version just firmware you flashed?

Wonder if I should mess with my Stage 2 I just purchased or get on the phone with BMS.

Means you have latest... my board was a Beta i was 2nd car after Terrys to run it, everyone else got the new one.

For what it's worth I installed stage 2 last night after my care package and everything works great!

I had the same errors. I attempted to install after the recall updates. I previously only had stage 1 installed before the service.
