Valentine 1 Continuous K Band False Alarm

Installed my Valentine 1 in my 2011 535I and was greeted by continuous K band false alarms with arrow pointing to the rear. Does anyone have any idea on what might be causing this? I tried shutting off the lane departure and blind area indicator sensors but it had no effect.

Figured out my problem. Sunday was football game and I had a small tv device powered on in the back seat (fanvision). It's gone, false k-band is gone.

I still haven't figured out my problem yet; however, there have been several older posts that said the Sirius Antenna may be the problem.

Still configuring what I'll order and am concerned about this issue. Spoke to Valentine about the problem.

I'm told that lane departure and blind area indicator sensors are always on (just the notification is turned off), they are K band and will activate the Valentine. They thought to deactivate POP on the Valentine would solve the problem.

I won't get the lane departure and blind area indicator if it's degrades the Valentine's performance.

What have others discovered?? Your experience? Thanks.

yep, thats the problem. it is quite annoying, muting could potentially mute a real K band alarm (particularly along 87 or 84). i would not have ordered the package had i known about this issue previously

Valentine One told me it had something to do with the Satellite signal and they were working on it.

Try disabling POP on your V1 - worked for me:

Just to clarify - you have the Active Blind Spot Detection
and Lane Departure Warning...yes? And with POP disabled, the Valentine 1 seems to be working optimally?

Yes and yes

Yes, I have active blind spot detection and lane departure and with POP disabled on the Valentine 1 it has been quite. Before disabling POP, the detector would false even in my driveway; it no longer does this. I have X band and POP disabled on the Valentine 1; all other settings are factory. It is worth a try as disabling pop only takes a minute to do - nothing lost if it does not work for you. Cheers.

You need to disable the k pop detection via the programming, check the v1 website, it is easy. The blind spot detection is what is causing it and the dash switch does not shut off the detection, just the buzz in the steering wheel. I have not had this problem since doing it and no issues with radars. Read up on what k pop is on the v1 site as well.
