Would like to say hello to everyone, Iam new to the forums and I recently purchased a 2012 535 xdrive, with around 60k miles( very nice car ) I've been a e38 owner for 7 years than bought a Camaro and now I switched back to Bmw 😃 ,

Anyway I just bought the car and I have a problem with the trunk ( no it's not the lock switch in glove compartment) the trunk will pop open when I press the trunk on key fob, button next to leg and on trunk, but won't open fully automatically ( the car has option to open and close automatically).

Once I pop the trunk it requires some power to lift it up ( I can hear the mechanism sound moving but feels like no power is going there ) I checked 3 fuses for it and they are ok ?

What else could be the problem ? Anyway to avoid going to the dealer ? Some one told me to disconnect the battery that might help but idk if it wins decode the car ? Another person said that it might just need to be reprogrammed ? Idk
Any one experience such a issue ?
