The performance throughout the rpm range is fantastic IMO. Not as marked a difference than my prior M3 between lower and higher rpm, which is good and bad. I love it tho...

As for the exhaust,just waiting on the right one...coming from fab speed xpipe and AA catback in my e92, I have specific sound I am looking for. I am trying to be patient, do not want NASCAR type of sound...doesn't fit car IMO

Thanks for the great review. I ordered my 550xi recently. It's due to be built end of January. I decided to splurge and literally checked every option except the ski bag and ceramic controls. After seeing your pictures and others' I decided on DGMII with Black interior.

I'm coming from an E92 LCI M3 Coupe. Like you, my needs have changed and I can no longer justify the coupe. I needed something bigger but didn't want to sacrifice the performance I am used to.

I'm also a gadget guy, and missed a lot of the creature comforts I was used to in the way of cameras, sensors, etc. I'm looking forward to all of the tech in the 550. If only I could put myself in a medically-induced coma until mid-February when it's supposed to turn up!

Do you detect any difference in the steering feel, precision, road feel, etc. between the 2011 and 2012? Is the 2012 still hydraulic?

Dental floss and then used debugger/sap car spray to remove the residual sticky stuff....took less than 5 minutes

It's still unique! Now are the number up to 546 built 550i/6 (Oct 1 2012), Canada has stopped importing them as well as RWD 550iA so USA is the only market in the world.

MBrown1003; Thank you! Sound like a car the I would love! I really really love the Grandfather of V8 6speed 5series the E34 540i/6 so a 550i/6 F10 would be a perfect daily driver in a few years (I don't care about the European fuel prices, you only live once!)
